And And And Mixtape Volume Four

POSTED BY EZRA ACE CARAEFF ON FRI, NOV 5, 2010 AT 2:39 PM
Whether or not you agree that And And And is Portland’s best up and coming band, you have
to acknowledge that they are our town’s most prolific. I think they actually just released a new
album while I was typing that last sentence. In about a year of existence Andx3 has a pair of LPs
and now four—four!—mixtapes as well. I think they might have an EP or two as well? Maybe a
double live album? A cassingle? Honestly, I’ve lost count.
Mixtape number four is available for free, just email the band at this address and request
it. It will instantly appear in your inbox after that. And by the time you finish downloading it,
volume number five will probably be out.
At the end of this Carey Clarke commented: I am not exaggerating when I say each record/EP this
band has put out this year is on my Top 10 list for the year. Done no wrong.

And And And Play for Manchester Scenewipe

POSTED BY EZRA ACE CARAEFF ON WED, NOV 17, 2010 AT 6:53 AM
While it totally sounds like the nickname you’d give the annoying British guy, Manchester
Scenewipe is actually a video site dedicated to the legendary Manchester music scene. That has
nothing to do with Portland, until this happened…
In September 2010, we went sunning ourselves in the America’s. This is our three part special, featuring some
of the fantastic artists coming out of the North West Pacific area.
Silly Brits, as if we have sun here. But we do have bands and Manchester Scenewipe filmed
plenty of great sessions while visiting—Tiny Vipers, Sean Flinn, Old Light—and the highlight
of these comes courtesy of And And And. Set in a recently burned industrial building, the band
performed a pair of acoustic songs, both worth watching.
Hey Manchesterites, let’s totally hang out next time you come to town. I own an Inspiral Carpets
T-shirt—we have so much in common!

Orangutan Benefit Show!

Crappy Indie Music November 19:
The not long for this world Berbati’s is having a Orangutan Benefit Show
with Skeletron, And And And, Forest Park, and Robot Uprise. It is part of
the Orangutan Foundation International. Orangutans are very close to being
humans. These bands are humans helping out near humans. It is a beautiful
thing. Skeletron is an off shoot of Starfucker and has a similar electro-pop feel.
And And And are a great indie rock band. Forest park bring a touch of post-rock
to their actual rock. Robot Uprise sounds like music made by robots. The show is
$10-$15 and starts at 7:30 PM.

Pay your penance: wweek loves AndAndAnd

Soft Tags, And And And, Bombs Into You, Boats

[THE SOUND AND THE FURY] If you didn’t already believe And And And was the frontrunner for next year’s Best New Band title, the killer local six-piece all but sealed the deal with its opening set for Titus Andronicus during MusicfestNW last week. (Even Titus frontman Patrick Stickles announced from the stage that AAA was the best band of the night. “Even better than us,” he said.) Did you miss that show? Pay your penance by catching the feverish, frantic group as it brings its raucous trumpet- and clarinet-addled scruff pop to the stage alongside its fellow Portlanders from breezy, lo-fi jangle-pop crew Soft Tags (who only sound like they are from New Zealand). It’s a lineup of some of our town’s best young talent. REBECCA RABER. 9 pm. Berbati’s Pan, 231 SW Ankeny St., 248-4579. $5. 21+.

New site design!
